Ergonomic studies provide valuable information to product developers designing apparel, vehicles, safety equipment, sporting goods, footwear, furniture and other items designed for use by humans. Until now, there has not been a solution for accessing and managing large amounts of 3-D anthropometric data. Current data is available on CD’s requiring support from researchers and anthropologists. Optimizing the access and use of 3-D data in design requires considerable changes in business practices including information technology infrastructure. Zweave provides infrastructure and tools ranging from 3-D CAD, PDM to hardware, storage and bandwidth will allow 3-D and other product development data to be more readily accessible to product development teams and their partners in ergonomics, anthropometry and human factors.

With the introduction of [ergo] COMM, Zweave has developed an integrated software solution suite to manage and access Anthropometric research, development and testing information from requirements, 3-D scans, anthropometric survey, landmarks and CAD. With [ergo] COMM, people, processes, ideas and technologies come together regardless of time or location.

[ergo] COMM will provide capabilities to support the use of anthropometric data throughout a products lifecycle with special focus on product definition, product design, accommodation and validation testing.
